![]() ![]() It is covered in a celluloid material, which seemed to be the case with many Italian made guitars from that same period. ![]() The guitar body is a wild shape, which is identifier of Wandré designed guitars. The bridge incorporates a W, which is a mark for the designer, Wandré Pioli. The guitar body has edge binding and was painted in a different colour than the amplifier. The head stock is machined aluminium and looks very futuristic in a 60s way. Surely this guitar had to be designed by a guitar player that hated roadies. The 1st jack is the pickup connector and the second for an optional expansion speaker cab. On the back of the amplifier is a battery access cover and two RCA mini jacks. The centre of the grill carried either the Davoli or Krundaal logos. The amplifier has a speaker grill with radiating spokes suggesting a motorcycle wheel and an enclosure shaped like a motorcycle fuel tank. In the early 60s 2-piece bikinis were standard beach wear and since the guitar and amplifier was built in 2-pieces it was given the Bikini name. It may have been proceeded by the Kay company with their SS guitar amplifier. This was a Davoli Krundaal CT 642 amplifier credited with being one of the 1st solid-state guitar amplifiers. It stands out in guitar history for having an attached amplifier. The Krundaal Bikini was an electric guitar that had an innovative design that used a motorcycle theme.
